WATERLOO, Ont. – Women's Hockey's Keiara Raitt (Ancaster, Ont./Ancaster High School) and Katina Duscio (Kitchener, Ont./St. Mary's High School) have been named the W Store Warriors Athletes of the Week, presented by Imprint.
Both players tied for second among the team's playoff scoring leaderboard in the three-game OUA Quarterfinal series loss to Guelph.
Raitt scored perhaps the goal of the year in the Game 2 win over the Gryphons as she slid the puck through the Guelph Defender's legs, jumped around her, kicked the puck to her stick, and quickly fired a backhand shot past Martina Fedel.
"The goal was outstanding. It was a move that I don't even think I've seen her do it in practice," said Warriors Head Coach Shaun Reagan.
This is Raitt's second Warriors Athlete of the Week award, both of which have come this season.
Duscio was the team's MVP in Game 1 of the Guelph series, with an assist in the Warriors' third period comeback attempt. In Game 2, she scored on a 2-on-1 chance to make it 2-0 in her team's 6-0 home demolition of Guelph. She then kept up the point per game run pitching in with another assist in Game 3's triple overtime loss.
This is Duscio's first Warriors Athlete of the Week award.
While the Warriors' OUA playoff run comes to an end, they'll be back on the ice in two weeks for the 2026 Miller Waste U SPORTS Women's Hockey Championship, hosted by the Warriors March 19-22 in Elmira.
The puck drops on the Warriors Quarterfinal matchup at 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 19. Tickets are on sale now.
