Coach Roque Selected for the 2025 FIBA U16 Women’s AmeriCup

Canada Basketball has announced the coaching and support staff for the U16 Women's National Team ahead of the 2025 FIBA U16 Women's AmeriCup, with Jessica Roque joining as an assistant coach. Roque brings a wealth of coaching experience at the U SPORTS, national, and international levels, making her a valuable addition to the staff. Currently in her fifth season as head coach of the Waterloo Warriors, she previously spent four seasons as the lead assistant at Toronto Metropolitan University, where she helped guide the team to two U SPORTS Final 8 appearances.

Beyond her success in university basketball, Roque has made a significant impact at the national level. Most recently, she helped Canada's U19 women's team claim a bronze medal at the 2023 FIBA U19 Women's World Cup. She also contributed to the Junior Men's National Team as a training camp coach in 2017, a squad that went on to win FIBA World Cup gold. Additionally, she served as a performance analyst for the Junior Women's National Team that qualified for Worlds in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

As a player, Roque had a decorated career with CSU, winning Horizon League Championships in 2008 and 2010 while serving as co-captain.With her extensive coaching background and firsthand experience as a high level athlete, Roque continues to be a staple of Canadian basketball, bringing her leadership and expertise to the U16 Women's National Team.
