Game Recap: Men's Hockey |

Warriors Win It in Overtime

This Friday evening, the Waterloo Warriors clashed with the Windsor Lancers in a hard fought battle on the ice.

The opening period was a showcase of high energy, fast paced hockey, with both teams exchanging penalties and testing the opposing goaltenders. Despite numerous scoring opportunities, neither side was able to break the deadlock.

The intensity carried into the second frame, mirroring the first in both offensive pressure and defensive resilience. Waterloo's goaltender, Matt Onuska (Waterloo, ON), was in top form, making several elite saves to keep the game scoreless.

As the clock wound down, both teams pushed to get on the board, with Windsor holding a slight edge in shots on goal. However, strong defensive play and stellar goaltending ensured the game remained 0-0, sending the contest into overtime.

The Warriors tightened their strategy in overtime, controlling key possessions and generating early chances. The breakthrough finally came when Simon Rose (Renfrew, ON) fired a rocket from the slot, capitalizing on a crisp pass from Liam Fedak (Oakville, ON) to seal the victory.

The Warriors are back in action tomorrow against the Carleton Ravens, with puck drop set for 4:00 p.m.
