However, York extended their lead to 2-0 late in the period.

Waterloo continued to battle in the third, determined to overcome the deficit. Despite dominating in shots and maintaining offensive pressure, the Warriors couldn't complete the comeback. In the final minute, the Lions sealed the game with an empty net goal.

The Warriors will now turn their focus to Saturday, January 11, traveling to face the Concordia Stingers at 7:00 p.m.
