Warriors Battle but Fall to TMU Bold in 83-35 Loss

The Waterloo Warriors faced a tough road challenge this evening, falling 83-35 to the TMU Bold in Toronto. Despite the lopsided score, the Warriors showed resilience, with standout individual efforts providing bright spots in the tough defeat.

The Bold came out of the gate with a fast paced offense, quickly building a commanding 22-4 lead in the first quarter. Their aggressive play left the Warriors battling to find a rhythm, as they struggled to execute offensively and defend against TMU's offensive barrage. Despite the early deficit, Waterloo stayed focused and worked to steady the game.

In the second quarter, the Warriors showed their fight as Isaiah McRae (Burlington, ON) led the charge, scoring seven points to try and shift the momentum. His efforts on offense provided a spark, but the Bold continued to dominate overall. The Bold still held a significant lead by halftime, with the score at 44-16.

TMU maintained control in the third quarter, continuing to capitalize on Waterloo's mistakes and continuing their high level of play. The Bold outscored the Warriors 24-9 in the quarter, extending their lead to an insurmountable margin.

In the final quarter, the Warriors showed resilience as they fought till the last buzzer. Waterloo capitalized on a perfect 5 for 5 from the free throw line, showcasing their ability to execute under pressure. Thach WAL NGER (Cambridge, ON) also contributed with crucial rebounds, limiting TMU's second chance opportunities. However, the Warriors couldn't close the gap, as the Bold finished strong with a 15-10 advantage in the final frame, sealing an 83-35 win.

The Warriors will look to build on this game as they prepare to take on the Nipissing Lakers on November 29th in North Bay.
