Warriors Battle Until the End, But Badgers Take 2-1 Victory

This Saturday, the Waterloo Warriors faced off against the Brock Badgers in a tightly contested game that ended with a narrow 2-1 win for the Badgers.

The first period saw both teams in a defensive deadlock, with neither able to capitalize despite a combined 20 shots on goal. Waterloo held the edge in offensive pressure, out shooting Brock 12-8, but the score remained 0-0 heading into the second period.

The defensive battle continued in the second period, with both teams working hard to stymie offensive threats. Midway through the period, Brock managed to break through, scoring the first goal of the game to make it 1-0. Waterloo pushed back but was unable to even the score before the period ended.

In the final frame, Waterloo's offense found an opening, with Sarah Bestic (Waterloo) setting up Keiara Raitt (Ancaster) to net the equalizer, bringing the score to 1-1. However, Brock responded swiftly, reclaiming the lead with a decisive goal that would ultimately secure their 2-1 victory. Despite a solid effort throughout the game and an impressive total 31 shots on goal compared to Brock's 21, Waterloo fell short.

The Warriors will be back in action on November 8, as they travel to face the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks at 7:00 p.m.
