The Varsity Blues struck first, scoring within the opening 30 seconds to establish an early lead. The Warriors responded quickly as Jaden Goldie (Owen Sound) delivered a slick five-hole goal with a swift backhand, assisted by Nate Bierd (Calgary) and Jaxson Murray (Waterloo) who made precise passes through the neutral zone. Minutes later, a power play allowed Jack Phibbs (Selkirk) to connect with Liam Fedak (Oakville), who buried a shot in the top left corner, putting Waterloo ahead 2-1. Waterloo struck again on another power play as Adamo Santia (Richmond Hill) and Jack Phibbs (Selkirk) set up Liam Fedak (Oakville) for his second of the night. Late in the period, Jaxson Murray (Waterloo) broke free, racing past two defenders on a solo rush to score on a quick deke. His goal stretched the Warriors' lead to 6-2 as the period closed.
The Varsity Blues returned for the final period with urgency, challenging Warriors' goalie Matt Onuska (Waterloo), who remained sharp under pressure. Midway through, Waterloo capitalized on another power play with a perfectly executed setup that saw Tate Popple (Brandon) receive a cross ice pass from Jaxson Murray (Waterloo) and Sam McKinney (Fredericton) then to shoot from the high slot into the net for a commanding 7-2 lead. With five minutes left, Toronto managed to score twice, but the Warriors held strong and skated away with a 7-4 victory, showcasing both offensive firepower and defensive control.
