It was a massive day for former Warriors defensive back
Tyrell Ford (Niagara Falls, ON/) who was flown to Green Bay to sign a contract with the Packers of the NFL yesterday afternoon. Ford spend last season with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the CFL after being selected 13th overall in the 2022 CFL draft. Ford collected 10 tackles (three solo) in 18 games last season with the Bombers and came up just short in the Grey Cup final.

Chris Bertoia. "Tyrell is a talented young man that has always had this vision and goal since the day I met him when he was in Grade 10. I'm very proud of him and excited for him to seize his opportunity"
As a Warrior Tyrell was an all-star out of the gate earning a spot on the 2017 OUA All-Rookie Team. From there he continued to be one of the Warriors all-time greats finishing as a three-time OUA All-Star and two-time U SPORTS All-Canadian.
Tyrell finished his illustrious career with six interceptions and 15 pass breakups. In addition to his resume as a defensive back, Ford was also one of the most feared returners in the nation – he returned three punts for touchdowns and sits second all-time in school history in punt return yards. In his first career U SPORTS game in 2017, Ford brought two punts back to the house and set the single-game OUA record for punt return yards with 264.
