It was a spectacular weekend for the Warriors men's soccer team who picked up six of a possible six points in back to back wins over the Windsor in their home and home series with the Lancers. Waterloo's offence exploded with nine goals in those two wins as the black and gold improved to 4-1-1 on the season, good for second overall in the OUA West just one point behind Guelph.
On Friday night in Windsor, Waterloo got out to a hot start scoring four goals in the opening 37 minutes with two of them coming off the foot of
Sebastian Guerrieri (Oakville/). Nikolas Antolic and
Kevin Espiro (Mississauga/) were the other two Warriors to find the back of the net. Waterloo was not done there as Guerrieri completed the hat trick wiring home his third of the game in the 60th minute as Waterloo cruised past Windsor 5-0.
On Sunday, Waterloo kept up their dominant play, scoring three more goals in the opening half including another goal from Guerrieri giving him four on the weekend. Matthew de Michelle and
Matheus Mello (Toronto/) got the other Warrior markers while
Luka Frankovich (Oakville/) added a goal in the 52 minute to secure a 4-0 win over the visiting Lancers.
Simon Grande (Hamilton/) earned clean sheets in both matches to help his squad improve to 4-1-1 on the season.
Waterloo will be back on home turf again this Wednesday evening against Western at 8:15pm before traveling to London on Saturday to face the Mustangs once again.Â
