Anyone out there ready to take their wellness goals to the next level, and maybe wish that our 'Jump Into June' challenge didn't fly by so quickly? We've got AMAZING news for you, because we are launching a brand new, 6 week challenge to keep you movin' and groovin' throughout July and August! New challenges, new prizes, and new ways to keep yourself motivated!
Just like last time, each of the 6 weeks within the challenge will have a particular theme. Our selected themes for each week include: movement, sleep, hydration, nutrition, health-related apps, and pick-your-own adventure. Each themed week will have a specific requirement that you need to complete. In order to be entered into our challenge, you must post an instagram story that you have completed the weekly challenge and tag Waterloo Recreation (@wloorec). If you have a private account, you are also welcome to send us a direct message (DM) on instagram that you have completed the challenge.
You may be wondering what the weekly challenges are, and what needs to be done to be entered! It's super straight-forward and easy to follow! Here they are:
Week 1 (July 13th - 19th): MOVEMENT. The goal here is to try something NEW that you haven't done before. Gardening, karate, etc...the possibilities are endless! Post a picture of your new activity to instagram or send us a direct message with a photo showing what you tried to enter.
Week 2 (July 20th - 26th): SLEEP. The goal this week is to get one 8-hour sleep. We ask that you use a sleep tracker (found on most Smart phones or watches), and post/send us a screenshot that you reached your sleep goal that night.
Week 3 (July 27th - August 2nd): HYDRATION. This week, we want to see how you spice up your liquid consumption. Do you add strawberries? Cucumbers? Do you LOVE sparkling water? We want to see a picture of how you spice up that H2O on your story or in our DMs!
Week 4 (August 3rd - August 9th): NUTRITION. Got any tasty, healthy dessert ideas? We want to see them! Post a picture or send us a picture of your favourite healthy dessert recipe.
Week 5 (August 10th - 16th): APPS. Do you use an app to track your sleep? Exercise? Nutrition? We want to see what you use! Post a picture to your instagram stories or send us a DM with a screenshot of the app you use to keep yourself accountable!
Week 6 (August 17th - 23rd): CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE. We want to see your favourite aspect of wellness...it can be anything! Whether it has to do with sleep, exercise, being outdoors - it's up to you! Post a picture to your instagram story or send us a DM of your favourite wellness activity.
Each week that you complete a challenge, you will receive one point - that point counts as one entry into the draw to win the grand prize at the end of the month. For example, if you complete all six challenges, you will have your name entered SIX TIMES to win. You are eligible to enter as many times as you wish for each challenge, the more the better! And don't forget, we will also be drawing WEEKLY for a Trulocal box!
