The Warriors women's hockey team wrapped up their 2018-19 season with a 3-2 OT loss to Laurier on Saturday night. Waterloo fired 33 shots on the Hawks net but just couldn't get the bounces to get the game winner past Cohen Myers.

Emily Visser scored the overtime winner 3:19 into the extra frame to give Laurier the extra point.

Opening the scoring for Waterloo was Samanta Burbridge who fired in a one-timer after a slick cross-crease feed from Brooklyn Cole (Kitchener/) on a first period power play. Courtney Simpson (Sebringville/) also found the back of the net in the middle frame, wiring a shot bar down past Myers. Waterloo threw all they could at the net in the final frame but couldn't net the go ahead goal. With the loss Waterloo finished the season with a 12-7-5 record (two overtime wins) and 39 points to claim the seventh spot in the OUA standings. Waterloo will face the No. 2 seeded Western Mustangs in a best-of-three quarter-final series which gets underway Wednesday night in London.

Game 2 is set for Satuday at 2:30pm at the CIF Arena and if necessary Game 3 goes Sunday at 2:30pm back in London.
