Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

Badgers fight back to beat Warriors on senior night

Men's volleyball was delivered a tough blow to their playoff hopes on Friday night in a five set loss to the Brock Badgers on Senior Night at the PAC.

Waylon Chen (Markham/) and Aman Rakkar (Cambridge/) were honoured prior to the game for their incredible commitment to the black and gold.

Up 2-0 the Warriors were seemingly in control of the match before Brock cleaned up their game in the third set winning it 25-14, with just three errors.

Brock forced a fifth and final set winning the fourth 25-23 and kept the throttle down with no errors in the fifth, winning it 15-9 and the match 3-2.

Waterloo fell to 6-9 with the loss and will need to win their final two games of the season next weekend against Western and Windsor and hope that Guelph loses both of their contests to sneak into the post-season.

Waterloo was led by third year left side Kevin LeBreux (Cumberland/) with 15 points on 14 kills and two assisted blocks. Matthew Mawdsley (London/) was next with 11 points while Jacob Nesbitt (Wakefield/) had nine including a a monstrous kill off a face of a Badger in the fifth set. Colm Guyn (Lethbridge/) finished with 36 assists, six digs and one ace in the loss.

For Brock, outside hitter Logan House was unstoppable with 34 kills in the match.

Waterloo will close out their season with two wins on their mind next weekend. First up is Western on Friday followed by a trip to Windsor on Sunday to face the Lancers.
