The Warriors went on their annual trip east down the 401 to face UOIT and Queen's, coming away with four out of a possible six points.
On Friday night, Waterloo fell behind 2-0 early but exploded for four goals in a span of 10 minutes in the middle frame to take the victory by a score of 4-3.
Emma Pye (Oshawa/) scored twice while
Taytum Clairmont (Waterloo/) and
Krystin Lawrence (Tecumseh/) each found the back of the net. Lawrence's game winner was a beautiful setup from
Samantha Burbridge (Brantford/) from behind the net as Lawrence ripped the one-timer on her backhand top shelf. Lawrence finished with two points adding an assist while
Samantha Burbridge (Brantford/) also had two points with a pair of helpers.
Alysha Letwin (Barrie/) picked up the win making 25 saves.
On Saturday, it was the opposite trend for the black and gold as they would go up 2-0 early before falling by a score of 4-3 in a shootout to the Queen's Gaels.
Sarah Rettinger (Kitchener/) opened the scoring just 3:08 into the first period before Lawrence netted her third as a Warrior five minutes later to send the Warriors up 2-0 into the first intermission. Queen's tied it up with two of their own in the middle frame before taking a 3-2 lead at 11:45 of the third.
The red hot
Emma Pye (Oshawa/) found the equalizer though, with just 2:30 remaining she netted her third of the weekend and fifth of the season to send the game to overtime. After the seven minute extra period solved nothing, Queen's found the lone goal in the shootout to secure the extra point.
Mikayla Schnarr (Waterloo/) was busy between the pipes stopping 32 of 35 shots while at the other end Kathryn Jalink made 25 stops.
Waterloo, now at 4-1-1 on the season will continue their five game road trip next weekend with games at Western and Windsor.
