Waterloo's struggles in 2019 continued on Friday night in London as the Warriors fell to the Western Mustangs 95-81. Western moved into top spot in the West with a 11-4 record and 22 points while Waterloo dropped to 3-13 on the season.
Waterloo shot very well on the night at 49.2% while Western operated at 50.7% but again it was turnovers that cost the Warriors the game. The black and gold committed 19 turnovers with Western converting 24 points off those.
Four of Western's five starters reached double digits with Omar Shiddo leading the way with 19 points. On the glass, Justin Sharp had nine rebounds to go with his 11 points.
Waterloo was led by
Nedim Hodzic (Waterloo/Sir John A. Macdonald Secondary) with a double-double posting a game high 22 points and 10 rebounds.
Jeff Baradziej (Grimsby/Wasatch Academy (Utah)) had a strong game with 15 points while
Korbil Gany (Kitchener/Resurrection Secondary) had his best outing of the season with 15 as well.
David Ramon Prados (Madrid/Virgen de Atocha (North Platte College)) was also in double digits with 11.
The Warriors will now begin a four game homestand on Friday with a Battle of Waterloo before taking on McMaster on Saturday. Both games are slated for 8pm starts.
