The Warriors men's basketball team got off to a hot start on Saturday night at the PAC, leading the Brock Badgers 12-4 in the opening minutes but Brock tallied 13 of the next 15 points to take a 17-14 lead and the visitors would maintain their lead the rest of the way for the 94-81 victory.
Both teams shot over 40% in the contest but Brock turned Waterloo's 15 turnovers into 20 points to earn the 13 points victory.
David Ramon Prados (Madrid/Virgen de Atocha (North Platte College)) had a nice game for his Warriors with 17 points thanks to five made shots from beyond the arc. He also had six boards in a strong losing effort.
Justin Malnerich (Cambridge/St. Benedict's Catholic Secondary) was the next best Warrior with 16 points with four 3-pointers while
Nedim Hodzic (Waterloo/Sir John A. Macdonald Secondary) and
Simon Petrov (Waterloo/Sir John A. Macdonald Secondary) put up 15 and 13 points respectively. Hodzic led all players on the boards with 12 rebounds.
Waterloo will look for their first win of 2019 on Wednesday night in Windsor against the Lancers. Tip-off is set for 8pm.
