It was a solid weekend for the men's soccer team as they took out the Algoma Thunderbirds 2-0 and 4-0 in back-to-back matches.
With the win, Waterloo improved to 3-1-0 and sit in third in the OUA West with nine points.
The Warriors were led by
Sebastian Guerrieri (Oakville/) who netted three goals in two games.
Logan Wright (Kitchener/) also found the back of the net twice with one in each contest.
In the first match, Waterloo put away goals (Wright and Guerrieri) early in both halves and walked away with the 2-0 win.
In the second tilt, the Warriors again got off to an impressive start, scoring the quickest goal in program history as Guerrieri potted one just 11 seconds into the match.
Samy Menendez (Pickering/) made a nice pass up field off of an Algoma Defender that was finished off by Guerrieri.
Guerreri then put another goal away after a nice setup from
Luke Chauvineau (Geneva/) along the near goal line.
Wright and
Nicholas Ribeiro (Bolton/) each found the net late in the game to seal the 4-0 win for Waterloo.
The Warriors will be back in action next weekend with a pair of road games; first the Battle of Waterloo at Laurier followed by a tough road match with Western in London.
