The Warriors badminton team came away with a fifth place finish at the 2018 OUA Championship, winning three matches and losing two.
On Friday, the Warriors went 2-1, falling to Toronto 9-1 but bouncing back with big wins over Carleton (10-0) and Ottawa (8-2).
In the Ottawa match
Natalie Lam (Richmond Hill/) and
Emily Lam (Toronto/) won both their singles matches and doubles matches (as partners) while
Martin Law (Mississauga/) won his singles match over William Zhao of Ottawa.
The win put Waterloo into the quarter-finals against McMaster and the black and gold fought tooth and nail in the knock-out match but fell to the Marauders 6-4.
Natalie Lam (Richmond Hill/) again won both her matches while
Justin Law (West Hill/) and
Robbie Thomas (Victoria/) won an epic three set battle in their men's double match.Â
With the loss Waterloo took on Ryerson in the 5th place match and came away with a big 6-2 win to finish fifth overall.
