Four different Warriors found the net as Waterloo got past Windsor 4-3 on Sunday afternoon for their second straight victory.
Dollee Meigs (Owen Sound/) potted her second of the season on the power play tipping home a
Brooklyn Sarnovsky (Courtice/) point shot.
Hannah Street (Shoal Lake/) picked up the second helper on the games opening goal.
Waterloo extended their lead to 2-0 midway through the second frame as
Cynthia Cavanagh (Scarborough/) took a nice feed from
Samantha Burbridge (Brantford/) and sniped it past the glove hand of Kristen Swiatochik.
Windsor cut into Waterloo's lead with just one minute remaining in the second as Meredith Goldhawk fired one past
Amanda Smith (Burlington/) for the shorthanded marker.
Up 2-1 into the final frame, Waterloo extended their lead with
Alison Hanson (North York/) sliding one in on the backhand at 2:09 to chase Swiatochik from the net. It was the first of the season for Hanson.
Just 23 seconds later,
Jenna Hewitt-Kenda (North Vancouver/) netted her first of the year, also on the backhand after some nice pressure down low from the Warriors to put them up 4-1. Jaydlin Spooner allowed the first shot past her in relief but then settled in for the rest of the period, making 12 stops.
Windsor would find the net two more times to make it a 4-3 game but the black and gold held on for a big three points. Smith turned aside 21 stops for her second win of the second.
Waterloo will now battle Laurier this Friday followed by a home contest with Western on Saturday (2pm). Both games can be seen live on oua.tv.
