Tied at 75 with under two minutes to play, Queen's got two big three's from Tanner Graham and Quinton Gray to sink the Warriors 83-75 on Saturday night in Kingston.
Queen's outscored the Warriors 49-35 in the second half to improve to 4-3 on the season while the Warriors dropped to 1-7.
For the second straight night the Warriors received a huge effort from
Nedim Hodzic (Waterloo/Sir John A. Macdonald Secondary) who put up a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds. He also added five assists and one steal.
Jeff Baradziej (Grimsby/Wasatch Academy (Utah)) had his best performance as a Warrior with 19 points while
Simon Petrov (Waterloo/Sir John A. Macdonald Secondary) put up 15. Baradziej went 6-for-8 with three from beyond the arc and a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line.
Statically speaking, Waterloo was the better team going 48.4% from the field compared to just 39% for the home side but Queen's turned the ball over just four times while Waterloo committed 15 turnovers which came back to haunt them in the loss.
The Warriors will wrap up 2018 on home court with a pair of games this coming weekend. First Nipissing pays a visit to the PAC on Friday before Waterloo and Laurentian close out the calendar year on Saturday. Both games start at 8pm.
