Sarah Glynn (Fredericton/) and
Ella Stewart (Ottawa/) put on a clinic in Waterloo's home opener on Saturday as the women's volleyball team swept aside the Windsor Lancers, 25-15, 25-21, 25-14. It was the third straight sweep for the black and gold and fourth straight win to open the 2018-19 season.
Glynn led all players with 14.5 points on 13 kills, one ace and one block. She also had four digs in the match. Meanwhile, Stewart was massive at the net for Waterloo with a game high eight blocks, three of them solo. Stewart also had five kills to give her 10.5 points in the win.
Claire Mackenzie (Vancouver/) had nine points while
Brooklyn Gallant (Cambridge/) rounded out the Warrior attack with eight.
Defensively
Sarah Remedios (Ajax/) picked up 14 digs while Gallant had nine.
Claire Gagne (Cambridge/) was exceptional in Waterloo's setup with 35 assists.
Paige Phills was Windsor's best player finishing with nine points.
