It was the first road contest for the Warriors of 2018 and the black and gold did not fair well losing the match in 3 sets. Guelph controlled the match from start to finish putting away 42 kills compared to just 25 for the Gryphons.
With the loss Waterloo drops to 4-7 and are on the outside of the playoff picture looking in while Guelph occupies the final spot in the west with their 5-7 record.
Waterloo was led by
Matthew Mawdsley (London/) who had 11 points on six kills and five blocks.
Braden Cok (Waterloo/) was next best with 10 points.
Colm Guyn (Lethbridge/)Â put forth a strong effort with 23 assists in the loss.
Guelph was led by Zachary Newman who had 13 points in Guelph's fifth win of the season.
The two combatants will meet again next weekend on Saturday in the PAC. Game time is set for 8pm in what will be a massive game with playoff implications for both squads.
