Claire Mackenzie (Vancouver/) put together a strong game with 14 points on 13 kills and one service ace but her effort came up short in a 3-0 loss to the No. 6 McMaster Marauders on Saturday night at the PAC.
Waterloo gave the mighty Marauders all they could handle, especially in the first two sets dropping them 20-25 and 21-25 but lost their momentum in the third falling 25-16.
The loss drops Waterloo's record to 5-7 but they remain comfortably in a playoff position at third in the OUA west.
Kayla Wierts (Drayton/) was the next best Warrior with 7.5 points while
Jenna Gravina (Burlington/) finished with 6.5. At the net
Serena Otshudi (Stoney Creek/) led all players with four blocks in the match.
McMaster was led by Hailey Kranics who put down 10 kills while Aleks Arsovic finished with nine.
The Warriors now prepare for a home and home with the Gryphons which gets underway in Guelph this Friday before returning to the PAC on Sat, February 3 for a night match with the Gryphs.
