The Warriors had a busy weekend starting on the Friday when they hosted three schools in as many days at the Waterloo Tennis Club.

First guests were the Mustangs, last year's OUA champions and recently-crowned National Universities Champions in August. The Mustangs have had deep lineups with for many years and this year was no different. The only match that was won by the Warriors came off the racquets of no. 1 doubles team of John Chan (Whistler/) and DJ Fenerty. 

They are fast becoming one of the top three doubles teams in the OUA and they proved that by edging the Mustangs no.1 pair 8-7. Booming serves, crisp volleys and powerful strokes by both teams were on display. The Warriors managed to eke out a win in the tie-break.   Unfortunately it was not enough to win the doubles point

On Saturday, the Warriors faced yet another strong school when McGill came to town. Just like Friday, the only Warriors win came from Chan and Fenerty.  Five rookies were in the singles lineup and though all lost their matches, valuable experience was gained from playing two very strong teams, Western and McGill.

On Sunday, the Warriors were able to produce a sweep of their own against the Carleton Ravens. The Ravens provided little opposition, no doubt weariness from their three-day weekend road trip affected their performance.

The Warriors are off to face the York Lions next Saturday at York campus and will be back at home on Sunday to host the final match of the regular season against Queen's.
