Warriors drop tight contest with rivals Western

Box Score The Waterloo Warriors and Western Mustangs have a history of putting on exciting matches and Saturday night at the PAC was no different.  Unfortunately for the black and gold, they were on the losing end of another tight match.  Western took the match 3-1 winning the last two sets 25-21, 25-23.

The loss dropped Waterloo to 6-7 on the season, good for fourth in the west while Western improved to 8-5 and are four points up on the Warriors in third.

Braden Cok (Waterloo) was again the leader in kills with 10 while Jordan McConkey (Stratford) had a nice night up the middle with nine kills and three blocks.  Matthew Mawdsley (London) was also on his game in the middle with five blocks.

Nikola Dimitrijevic (Mississauga) collected 34 assists in a solid losing effort.

Leading the attack for Western was Zeid Hamadeh who had 13 kills while Chris Newcombe put away 11.

Waterloo will look to rebound in their final home game of the season but it will be no easy task as they take on the No. 3 McMaster Marauders.  Game time is set for 8pm.

The Warriors then close out their season with three straight road games.
