The Warriors dropped a pair of road games in their road trip up north in competition with Laurentian and Nipissing.
On Friday night Waterloo fell to the No. 10 Laurentian Voyageurs 96-80. The Warriors were led by second year forward
Nedim Hodzic (Waterloo/Sir John A. Macdonald Secondary) who put together an incredible game with 28 points, going 9-for-16 from the field while hitting 10 free throws. Hodzic also collected 11 rebounds in the contest.
Also having a strong game on Friday was
Justin Malnerich (Cambridge/St. Benedict's Catholic Secondary School) who put up 23 which included six from beyond the arc.
On Saturday, the Warriors got off to a slow start, trailint Nipissing 21-9 after one quarter but outscored the Lakers 30-14 in the second to take a 39-35 lead into half.
After an even third quarter (21 points apiece), Nipissing took over in the final quarter outscoring the black and gold 26-15, handing Waterloo the 82-75 defeat.
Hodzic again led the way with 23 points and 12 rebounds while
Simon Petrov (Waterloo/Sir John A. Macdonald Secondary) put up 22 and added six assists in the loss.
The Warriors will now return home for four straight against two of the top teams in the country. On Friday Waterloo will face the No. 1 Carleton Ravens (8pm) before taking on the No. 9 Ottawa Gee-Gees (4pm) on Saturday.
