Box Score The Warriors put together a strong defensive effort in their final game of 2016 but came up short to the visiting Laurentian Voyageurs by a score of 70-61 on Saturday night at the PAC.
Waterloo held Laurentian to 38.1% from the field but unfortunately their own offence ran cold on the night operating at just 32.4% from the field. The Voyageurs were hot from three point land with 16 from beyond the arc while Waterloo hit 13 three's.
Nedim Hodzic (Waterloo/Sir John A. Macdonald Secondary) had his best game in his young Warrior career with 22 points in 33 minutes of action. Hodzic went 8-for-18 from the field while hitting six from the free throw line. He also brought in eight rebounds.
Mike Pereira (Kitchener/Resurrection Secondary) was the only other Warrior in double figures with 13 points. He also led the Warriors in rebounds with 12.
Laurentian was led by Kadre Gray who 20 points and six rebounds. David Aromolaran was also a factor for Laurentian with 17 points.
Waterloo will now prepare for a pair of exhibition matches with Rochester College on December 29 and 30 in Rochester, Michigan before returning to league play against the top two teams in the country, Carleton and Ottawa in the New Year.
