Box Score The Windsor Lancers snapped Waterloo's three game win streak, topping the Warriors 3-2 on Saturday night.
After a scoreless first, the Lancers struck early in the middle frame as Krystin Lawrence got one past Stephanie Sluys (Clinton) at 3:57. The goal snapped 156 minutes and 45 seconds of shutout hockey for Sluys.
Just five minutes later, the Warriors responded as Michelle Tanel (Toronto) netted her first of the season. Rachel Marriott (Waterloo) and Carolyn Burke (Mississauga) picked up the helpers.
Another three minutes later, Marissa Redmond (Ajax) put her Warriors up 2-1 with her second of the season. Before the middle frame would expire, Windsor found the equalizer as Jill Rops put home a breakaway chance to cap off a wild period.
Tied at two's, the Lancers took their second lead of the game as Kennedy Snively put one past Sluys. Waterloo put on the pressure in the dying minutes but would fall 3-2.
Morgan Farrow turned aside 22 shots for Windsor while Sluys made 28 in the loss.
The Warriors will look to get back in the win column today at 4pm as they face-off against the Western Mustangs.
