Box Score The Warriors won their second straight game in 2016 with a 3-1 (25-23, 22-25, 25-20, 25-21) over arch rivals Western on Saturday in London.Â
With the win Waterloo improves to 5-8 and continues to climb the OUA standings and find themselves in a tie for fifth with three other (Western, York, and Nipissing) schools.
Waterloo's attack was led by
Braden Cok (Waterloo) who finished the match with a game high 19 kills on 42 attempts. Cok also had five digs in the win. Also in double figures was
Aidan Simone (London) who had 14 kills while brother
Greg Simone (London) had 12.Â
Jordan McConkey (Stratford) was once again a beast at the night with four blocks while setter
Gibson Graham (Markham) had 39 assists in the contest.
For Western, Zeid Hamadeh was the only Mustang in the double figures in kills with 10. Doug Austrom and Mike Choja each had nine.Â
Waterloo will now turn their attention to two crucial matches next weekend as they host the always competitive Ryerson Rams and Toronto Varsity Blues. Both games are set for 8pm (Friday and Saturday) and can be seen live on OUA.tv.
