Box Score The Warriors dropped a close one on Wednesday night in Toronto, falling to the Varsity Blues 63-61 at the Goldring Centre. 

Waterloo would not let the Blues get away as they built a 12 point lead late into the third quarter but the Warriors battled back and evened the score at 45's in the fourth.

Toronto would find themselves up 62-59 in the late going and a three-pointer would even the game but the stingy Blues defence took away in opportunity from beyond the arc forcing the black and gold to go inside.  They would do just that as Nicole Schlick (Prince George) put away an easy lay-up making the deficit just one. 

The Warriors were forced to foul and the home side hit one of two free throws while time expired to make it a 63-61 final. 

Third-year guard Kristen Osborne (Markham) led all players with 22 points and nine rebounds, while Schlick added eight points and a team-high 12 boards.  Emily Wilk (Oakville) and Ella Mahler (Hamilton) also had eight points in the loss.  Mahler was a perfect 3-for-3 from the field including one three pointer and was successful on her one attempt from the free throw line.

For the Blues it was guard, Rashida Atkinson doing the damage with 16 points, nine rebounds and one steal.  Fellow third-year guard Diedre Edwards had 13 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals, shooting 4-for-7 from the field and going 5-for-7 from the free throw line.

Waterloo will be back in action on Saturday as they return to Toronto to face the Ryerson Rams at 1pm.
