Box Score On a night in which the Waterloo Warriors took too many penalties against the Windsor Lancers, it's only fitting that the game's most impactful player is named 'Justice.'
Justice Dundas scored four times, and the Lancers went 4-for-7 on the power play en route to an 8-1 victory over the Warriors on Saturday night in Windsor.
Five other Lancers, including veteran defenceman Kenny Bradford, had a pair of points for Windsor in the victory. Andrew Smith (Kitchener) scored the only Warriors goal in the losing cause, while goaltender Mike Morrison (Hamilton) turned aside 42 of 50 shots on a busy evening.
The final score notwithstanding, the game was hotly contested for some time – in fact, the game was knotted at 1-1 well beyond the mid-way point of the second period. But a late second period flurry, highlighted by Dundas completing his hat trick, made the score 4-1 Windsor after 40 miniutes.
The third period was nearly a carbon copy of the second, as the Lancers exploded for four more goals in a span of 6:05 late in the game. In total, the Warriors were assessed 26 minutes in penalties, to the Lancers' 14.
The win improves Windsor's record to 2-0 in the early season, while the loss drops the Warriors back to 1-1 on the year. Waterloo will now prepare for their second home game of the season, as they're back in action hosting the Toronto Varsity Blues on Friday, October 16. Puck drop at the Columbia Icefield Arena is slated for 7pm.
