Box Score The Warriors got stellar games from a pair of outside hitters as
Zachary Doherty (Goderich) and
Aidan Simone (London) teamed up for 28 kills to sink the Nipissing Lakers in straight sets (28-26, 25-22, 25-14).Â
The win was Waterloo's second straight and seventh out of their past eight regular season games. The Warriors moved up one spot into third place with a 10-5 record with one game in hand on the fourth place Queen's Gaels (9-5). With the loss the Lakers remain in ninth spot a 4-10.
Also chipping in on the offence was middle
Jordan McConkey (Stratford) who put together quite an impressive weekend. In today's victory McConkey was very efficient with seven kills on just 11 attempts. He also added three solo blocks.Â
Erich Woolley (New Dundee) added 13 more digs to his total to give him 172 on the season good for 3.31 digs per set. Setter
Gibson Graham (Markham) was solid once again with 35 assists while digging up 10 balls in the win.
For Nipissing Cameron Branch was the main target for setter Shawn Humphrey as Branch put away 15 kills. Humphrey finished the contest with 31 assists.
The Warriors will look to make in three in a row when they host Windsor on Friday night at the PAC. That matchup is set for 8pm.Â
