On Saturday, the Waterloo Warriors and Windsor Lancers showed tremendous poise and determination through five difficult and entertaining sets in front of a boisterous crowd at the St. Denis Centre in Windsor. The Warriors fought tirelessly to a 3-2 victory (25-20, 26-28, 22-25, 25-23, 17-15) to go .500 on the weekend. Waterloo is now 3-2 on the young season.
The black and gold were coming off a heartbreaking 2-3 loss to Western the night before and were determined to change their fate for this game. Waterloo had great chemistry to start the game and broke down the Lancer defense with some strong hits throughout the first set to win 25-20.
Windsor picked up their defense and challenged the impressive Waterloo offense throughout the second and third sets. Both sets were tight affairs and the Lancers strong play led the Blue & Gold to win both sets 28-26 and 25-22 and take a 2-1 lead in the match.
Waterloo would not settle for a winless weekend and came out in the fourth set with solid team cohesion all around. The Warrior took the momentum of a tight 25-23 fourth set win into the fifth and defeated the Lancers in extra points 17-15 to win the match 3-2.

Aidan Simone (London) was a star for the Warriors who collected 16 kills and 10 digs while
Zachary Doherty (Goderich) had 14 kills and 10 digs in the victory.
Jordan McConkey (Stratford) had 14 kills and 2 service aces along with 2 digs and
Jordan Dyck (St. Catharines) piled up 13 kills, 2 service aces and 2 digs.
Nikola Dimitrijevic (Mississauga) continues to impress in his first full season with the Warriors, collecting 54 assists and 5 digs in the match.
Windsor was led by Gabriel Burlacu with 17 kills and 8 digs while Greg Simone had 21 kills and 6 digs in the loss.
The black and gold will be on the road next Friday, November 7
