The Waterloo Warrior baseball squad ran into some hot pitching in the opening game of 2013 against the Laurier Golden Hawks.  Jordan Petruska went eight innings with three strikeouts allowing only two hits as the Hawks blanked the Warriors 5-0.

Jay Flannigan (Cornwall/) was given the loss for Waterloo going three innings allowing only two hits and two runs but gave up six walks.  James McCullough (Toronto/) and rookie Kyle Thalheimer (Richmond Hill/) were the only two Warrior players with hits.

Waterloo will look to get into the win column this weekend at the OUA kick-off tournament in Milton.  The Warriors will face the McMaster Marauders in their opening game on Saturday at 10am.
