The Waterloo Warriors traveled to St. Catharines on Wednesday evening and ride home after defeating the host Brock Badgers 76-71.
It was two completely different halves of basketball as Brock led at half time 45-20, only to see Waterloo outscore the hosts 56-26 over the second half and secure the five point victory. With the win Waterloo is tied with Guelph for the sixth and final playoff spot in the OUA West.
Brock led 69-48 with 8:30 remaining in the game. Over the final minutes the Warriors out-scored the Badgers 28-2 to secure the win.
Rookie
Wells Davis (Mississagua/) had a season best 22 points to lead the Warriors.
Brendan Smith (Kamloops/Sa-Hali S.S.) added 15 points for the Warriors, including his first career three pointer.
Matt Glibota (Sault Ste Marie/) also contributed a career best 13 points for the Warriors. Michael Williams was high man for the Badgers with 22 points.
With the win the Warriors improved to 5-15 on the season and will face Guelph in their final game of the regular season. The winner of that match will advance to the playoffs as the sixth and final seed. Game time is 3pm in Guelph.
