Box Score The Algoma Thunderbirds picked up their first ever OUA win on Saturday night defeating the Warriors 61-55 at the PAC.

The T-Birds used a quick start outscoring Waterloo 17-7 in the opening quarter to earn the win.  With the win Algoma opened up the season at 1-1 while the Warriors went 0-2.

Reynaldo Carnakie led all scorers with 16 points for Algoma with four from the field and eight free throws.  Sean Clendinning and Terrell Campbell also led the Algoma attack with 13 and 12 points respectively.

For Waterloo it was rookie point guard Myles Charvis (Mississagua/) leading the way with 14 points going 6-for-14 from the field.  Veteran guard Wayne Bridge (North York/Eastern Commerce) put up 13 points in the game while Jaspreet Gill (Oliver/) had 12.

Waterloo will look to get back on track next weekend in Toronto when they face Ryerson on Friday night before facing the Varsity Blues on Saturday.  Both games tip-off at 8pm.
