Box Score The Waterloo women's hockey team kicked off their five game road trip on a winning note topping the Nipissing Lakers 3-1 on Saturday afternoon in North Bay.

The Warriors scored three unanswered goals in the final two periods to earn their fourth win of the season.  Waterloo is now 4-4-1 on the young season, good for eighth in the OUA while Nipissing sits in 12th with a 2-7-0 record.

Laura McKenzie got the Lakers on the board at the 15:37 minute mark of the first period putting home her first goal of the season past Rebecca Bouwhuis (Orillia/).

It wasn't until the 18:15 mark of the second period that the Warriors found the equalizer.  Speedster Marissa Redmond (Ajax/) potted her second goal of the season to send the game tied at 1-all into the second intermission.

Kelly Toms (Ennismore/) put the Warriors up 2-1 midway through the final frame with her second of the season before Rebecca Rutherford (Ajax/) iced it for the visiting Warriors netting her first of the season.

Waterloo will look to move above .500 with an early evening game today against Laurentian.
