Offense struggles in 85-52 loss to Lakehead

Newcomer Jaspreet Gill scored a team high 18 points in the loss
Box Score
The Lakehead Thunderwolves outscored the Warriors 46-20 in the opening half to cruise to their second straight victory over the home side in as many days with a 85-52 win.  The win improves the T-Wolves record to 5-4 while Waterloo remains winless at 0-9.

The Warriors failed to simply find the basket all game long shooting a lowly 30.9% in the game compared to Lakehead's 51.6%.  The difference was Lakehead's shooting spree from beyond the arc as the visiting side hit 11 three-pointer's while Waterloo hit just three.

Ryan Thomson (Oakville) was lights out for Lakehead with a game high 19 points thanks to his five made shots from beyond the arc.  Thomson was also a factor on the defensive boards with seven.

Greg Carter (Ottawa) was also an offensive threat driving the lane at ease at times, tallying 17 points in the game.  Yoosrie Salhia (Toronto) and Ben Johnson (Pictou) rounded out the Lakehead attack with 16 and 13 points respectively.

In just his second game as a Warrior Jaspreet Gill (Oliver/) proved he will be an offensive catalyst for the Warriors with 18 points in the game.  Gill went 6-for-15 from the field and a perfect 4-for-4 from the line.  Wayne Bridge (North York/Eastern Commerce) and Kyrie Coleman (Washington/) had 11 and 10 points respectively in the losing effort.

The Warriors look for their first win of the season when they travel to London to face the 1-8 Western Mustangs on Wednesday night.
