The Waterloo Warriors had their best offensive output of the season in defeating the visiting Guelph Gryphons 85-74 on Wednesday night.

Both teams struggled with scoring in the early going before Waterloo went on an 8-0 run midway through the first quarter and an 18-13 lead at the first quarter break. The second half started with all the potential of a close game. A couple of lead changes and five ties kept it close for much of the third quarter, until a Waterloo run of 10-2 to close out the quarter gave them a 10 point lead heading into the final period.

In the fourth it was all offense for both teams as Waterloo gained an 18 point margin on a couple of occasions and Guelph whittled away to make the final score 85-74.

For Waterloo, Kyrie Coleman (Washington/) had another double-double night with 22 points and 14 rebounds. Jaspreet Gill (Oliver/) added 21 points, 11 of them in the final quarter.
