Box Score The Waterloo men's volleyball team continued their winning ways with a tight 3-2 (30-28, 12-25, 22-25, 25-15, 15-11) victory over the always competitive Queen's Gaels on Sunday afternoon in Kingston.
The win was Waterloo's fourth straight to improve their record to 10-1 on the season while Queen's dropped to 7-4.
It was a tale of two different teams in the opening four sets as Waterloo won a nail-biting opening set 30-28 but dropped the next two 25-12, 25-22. The Warriors would tilt the momentum back in their favour in the fourth thanks to stellar passing and defense to capture the set 25-15.
In the fifth and final set the Warriors would find themselves down 4-2 early before
Aleks Poldma (Toronto/Warriors) would step up to serve, notching five straight points to give his Warriors a 7-4 lead, forcing the Gaels into a timeout. Waterloo would maintain their three point lead until the Gaels would even things up at 10 apiece.
On the ensuing point Thomson would set up Kazhamiaka who fired one off a double block and out to gain back the momentum. The next four points would go to the visiting Warriors and the black and gold would secure the match with a 15-11 fifth set win.
Zachary Doherty (Goderich/) was outstanding for the Warriors with 22.5 points in the win on his 18 kills, four blocks and two service aces. Doherty also collected 13 digs in the match. Also chipping in on the offense was middle

Scott Thomson (St. Marys/) picked up 48 assists for Waterloo.
The Warriors will now turn their attention to the OUA leading McMaster Marauders who remain perfect on the season at 11-0, when they meet on Friday night at the PAC, 7pm. The game can be seen live on
