Box Score The Waterloo Warriors traveled to Guelph on Saturday afternoon and suffered their seventh straight league loss, by a score of 82-63. Waterloo is now 4-8 in OUA league play.
After trading some baskets early Guelph went on a 12-3 run to close out the first quarter and lead by 9. Waterloo would patiently use the next 18 minutes to narrow the gap and take a brief lead late in the third quarter, up 53-51. Guelph would recover and hold a single point lead, 56-55 at the three quarter mark.
Then disaster struck for Waterloo. Four straight missed shots, at least five turnovers, no Guelph misses and the result was a 20-2 run for Guelph to start the fourth quarter and assure the win.
For Guelph, Kareen Malcolm led the way with 24 points, with Zach Angus adding 16. For Waterloo,
Wayne Bridge (North York/Eastern Commerce) led the team with 20 points, while
Cam McIntyre (Kitchener/Kitchener C.I.) added 15.
Next game for Waterloo is the first home game of 2012, as they host the Brock Badgers on Wednesday night. Game time is 8:00pm at the PAC.
