Warriors lose by 10 to Lancers

The Waterloo Warriors kept it close for 35 minutes on Wednesday night, but ended up losing 82-72 to the host Windsor Lancers.
 
The Warriors had a slow start and found themselves down by 9 after the first period. But a 7-0 run to start the second got it close again.  The Warriors took a lead partway through the second and were down just two at the half, 32-30.
 
Again in the third, the Warriors took a single point lead with a couple of minutes left and were down just two at the three quarter break. Early in the fourth the Warriors tied it twice before Windsor hit some shots they were missing earlier. Windsor would increase the lead to as much as 14 before Waterloo closed to 10 for the final score.
 
Mike Wright (Burlington/Assumption) led the way for Waterloo with 17 points. Srjdan Pejicic had 14 points, including 4 of 5 from the three point line. Josh Collins led the way for Windsor with 21 points. Jahmal McQueen and Lien Phillip added 17 points each. Windsor controlled the rebounds collecting 47 to Waterloo's 31. Waterloo also rarely made it to the foul line, hitting 3 of 4 attempts.
 
Next up for the Warriors is their fourth straight road game on Saturday, visiting Guelph.
