WATERLOO, Ont. - After six years as head coach of the Warrior women's hockey team, Geraldine Heaney has stepped down from her position.
Geraldine joined the Warriors in 2005 following an extensive playing career as part of the National Canadian Women's Hockey program.
Geraldine won Olympic gold in 2002 and became the first woman to win seven World Championships. She is truly a pioneer for women's hockey in Canada, and Waterloo would like to thank her for her contributions.
A search for a new coach will begin immediately.
