Warriors blanked by Golden Hawks

Waterloo drops final game of regular season

Emma Meanor stopped 42 of 44 shots in the losing effort
The Warriors wrapped up their 2010-11 season with a very strong game against the no. 2 Hawks narrowly falling by a score of 2-0.  The Warriors ended their season with a 4-21-2 record while the Hawks finished with an impressive 24-2-1 record.

Laurier would not score until the second period as Abby Rainsberry (Petrolia, Ont.) potted her fifth. This was due to the great play of Emma Meanor (Morell/) (Morell, PEI), who in her seventh start of the season turned aside 42 of 44 shots.

Vanessa Schabkar (Etobicoke, Ont.) would net her eighth of the year giving her seventeen points to end the regular season.

The Hawks did not score on the power play tonight, going 0-for-5. The Warriors went 0-for-2 as Liz Knox stopped all seven shots she faced for her fifth shutout of the year, and 90th win of her career.  Rookie goalie, Emma Meanor (Morell, P.E.I) was stellar between the pipes for Waterloo stopping 42 of the 44 Golden Hawk shots.

The Hawks take the season series 3-0.

The women's playoff picture shows Windsor at Queen's and Toronto at Guelph for the OUA quarter-final match ups.  Brock and Laurier await the winners before opening up the semifinal series'.
