Game Summary

The Waterloo Warriors improved to 4-1-0 on the season following a 5-2 win over the Windsor Lancers on Thursday evening at Windsor Arena.  Fourth year forward Jarrett Schnurr (Waterloo/) scored the game winning goal at the 1:12 mark of the third period to hand the Lancers (2-3-0) their third straight loss.

Lancers forward Drew Palmer (Tecumseh, Ont.) kept his scoring streak alive with his fourth goal of the year, putting the Lancers up 1-0 midway through the first period.

Windsor's lead didn't last long as the Warriors stormed back with two goals of their own before the end of the period.

Kyle Macdonald netted his first of the year on a scramble in front of Lancer goaltender Parker Van Buskirk, while Mike Veysey (Bedford/) added his own goal on a pass from Andy Smith (Rosetown/) and Justin Larson (Buckhorn/) to close out the period.

Windsor would score the lone goal of the second period to even the game with rookie forward D.J. Turner of Windsor, Ont., firing a shot past Warrior netminder Keaton Hartigan (Kitchener/).

After an early goal from Schnurr put the Warriors up by one, Hartigan held off the Lancer attack making 20 saves alone in the final period to maintain the lead for the visitors.
Waterloo would then receive two empty net goals from Veysey, his second of the game and Andy Smith (Rosetown/) to come away with the 5-2 road victory.

Hartigan made 42 stops for the victory while Buskirk allowed 3 goals on 38 shots to take the loss.

The Warriors have a break from OUA action this weekend as they travel to Connecticut and Rhode Island to face Yale and Brown University in a pair of exhibition games.
