Warrior goalie Martina Michaud (Etobicoke, Ont.) stood on her head making 45 saves to give Waterloo their second win of the season as they defeated the York Lions 3-1 on Saturday afternoon as part of Think Pink weekend.

The Lions and Warriors exchanged goals in the first with York jumping out to the quick lead and Waterloo responding three minutes later.  Scoring for York was Chloe Milano (Maple, Ont.) who fifth goal of the season.  Answering for Waterloo was Lindsey Ceaser (Owen Sound, Ont.) who picked up a rebound off the shot of Ona Mezenberg (Owen Sound, Ont.).  The speedy Kelly Toms (Ennismore, Ont.) picked up the second assist on the goal.

The black and gold would take the lead early in the second period as Ceasar scored her second of the game with assists once again going to Mezenberg and Toms.  The line provided much needed energy for the Warriors all game long and were rewarded with two big goals.

Rookie forward Nicole Hébert (Toronto, Ont.) added the insurance marker (her fourth goal of the season) and Michaud did the rest as Waterloo downed the Lions at the CIF arena in Waterloo.  Lions goalie Jessalyn Bogacki stopped 27 of 30 shots in the loss.

Waterloo take to the ice again this afternoon as they host the 5-5 Toronto Varsity Blues.  The game wraps up a very successful Think Pink weekend which has seen the Waterloo athletic department raise over $15,000 for the Breast Cancer Foundation – Ontario Chapter.  Come out and support your Warriors and watch co-op student Emma Glofcheski and athletic director Bob Copeland shave their heads as part of a money raising effort.
