Women's Hockey lose twice in overtime in exhibition play

The Warriors women's hockey team played their final two exhibition games before kicking off the regular season next weekend on the road.

The Warriors lost a hard fought battle to the Whitby Jr. Wolves who showed a lot of speed and youth.  With the Wolves up 2-0 in the second period the Warriors fougth back to even the score at 2.  Tied 3-3 going into the third, neither team could notch the go ahead marker and the game would go to overtime where the Jr. Wolves potted the overtime winner with just 23 seconds remaining.

The Warriors would suffer the same fate in their second exhibition game on Sunday losing to the KW Rangers 2-1 in OT.

Despite the losses, the young Warrior squad looks determined to improve upon last season's dissapoinment showing resiliance and determination to never give up on a game.  The black and gold have shown heart and determination in all four exhibition matches this season and hope this carries into their opening weekend with games against Queen's and UOIT.

The Warriors open up at home on Saturday, October 16 as they face the Toronto Varsity Blues as part of Hockey Day in Waterloo.
