Men's Recap
The Men were drawn up against the York lions. After York beat us in the championship match last season, the Warriors were determined to get their revenge against our biggest rivals. The men won a thriller to beat the Lions 4-3.
The Warriors lost the doubles point after a close 8-7 loss at the # 2 position. However the Warriors bounced back led by
Vincent Chan (Markham/) at
1 who rolled past the Lions (Mississauga/) 1 6-3, 6-0. After being down 3-2 in the overall times, inspiring performances by Warriors
3 and (Mississauga/) 5,
Kevin Lam (Markham/) and
Zubair Virjee (Calgary/) respectively, the Warriors beat the Lions 4-3 to move into the semifinals against Montreal.
The Warriors were victims of bad scheduling as they had to start the semifinal about 45 minutes after finishing the win against York. This cost the Warriors a spot in the championship match as Montreal, who were well rested and ready, beat the Warriors 6-1.
Vincent Chan (Markham/) secured the lone point for the Warriors after an enthralling match, winning in three hard fought sets. The Men's tournament ended with this semifinal loss to Montreal
