In the last meet of the season Immanuel left all that he had on the track. Dealing with a nagging injury all season he kept his composure and knew U SPORTS was the place to lay it all on the line. Coming in as the 3rd ranked 60m runner Onyemah lined up with the country’s best sprinters in the 60m heats Thursday evening. Showing his dominance once again Immanuel continued his winning streak by taking the W in his heat/semi-final in a time of 6.74. Shortly after, he lined up for his final individual race as a Warrior looking for gold. Immanuel got out to a great start pushing the pace and race to fast times overall. Going head to head with Olympian and the reigning U SPORTS champion Immanuel finished with an incredible time of 6.67, demolishing his own varsity record for silver. Defending his silver medal from 2022, Immanuel’s time of 6.67 also marks him as the 5th fastest 60m male in OUA history and 9th in U SPORTS history. Immanuel also holds the top 11 60m times in UW history and is the only Warrior to break the 6.80 barrier.

Directly following his 60m final was the men’s 4x200m relay. With his injury worsening after the 60m final discussions were had on whether to run him in the relay but in true Warrior fashion Immanuel was determined to give his all one more time for himself and his teammates. Despite coming up short of making the 4x200m final Immanuel put the men in good position to qualify for the final but unfortunately finished an agonizing 9th place. Immanuel has been an important member of the men’s relay squad all year and holds 5 of the top 10 4x200m relay times in UW history, including this years season’s best time of 1:28.41 ran in Ottawa as the second fastest time in UW history, only 0.03 seconds off the record.

Immanuel was the highest scorer for the men earning 8 of the 9 points.
