After a couple of weeks off of competing due to a small injury Immanuel went into the weekend on a mission as he watched his U SPORTS standing in the 60m fall week by week. Knowing he was capable of running the time needed to qualify he’s been smart and patient waiting for the right time to race again. Feeling good in warm-up, Immanual hoped to hit the U SPORTS auto qualifying time in the heats giving him the option to sit out the final to rest his body if needed. 
With a very smooth and easy prelim Immanuel won his heat in a season's best time of 6.83 seconds, hitting the U SPORTS qualifying time right on the nose and moving him up to 8th in the rankings. 

Feeling healthy Immanuel’s focus shifted to the final where he hoped to secure the win in a field with 2020 Olympians. Immanuel shot out of his blocks running another smooth race crossing the line in first place with a new lifetime best of 6.72, breaking his own varsity record and smashing his previous season’s best set earlier in the prelims. Onyemah’s time of 6.72 shot him up to 2nd in the country, behind the 2022 U SPORTS gold medalist.
