Josh Lorentz put together an incredible OUA Championship, his final one as a Warrior. He led the men’s team to a 6th place finish earning 27 points for his Warriors while being named a OUA second-team all-star.
On Friday he finished fourth in the 300m final and then returned on Saturday with three more events in a span of only a few hours. He came away with the bronze medal in the 600m, missing the silver by only 3 thousands of a second with a time of 1:20.03, a new personal best and UW varsity record.
He then ran the fastest split in the 4x200m to lead his team to a time of 1:28.67 (new PB and school record) and OUA silver medal. To conclude his outstanding championship meet, Lorentz ran the anchor in the 4x400m race, which saw the team finish with a time of 3:18.70 to win another OUA silver. His split time of 47.7 was the fastest 400m split time of the entire meet beating out Team Canada runners and 2019 U SPORTS medalists. Lorentz heads into the U SPORTS Championships ranked 3rd (4x400m), 6th (300m) & 7th (600m, 4x200m).
